God's Maternal Heart (Isaiah 49:14-15, 66:10-14) 

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and those who extend motherly love! In Korea, while we celebrate Parents' Day, today we specifically honor the nurturing spirit of motherhood. For some, this day may bring mixed emotions, but it’s a beautiful truth that in God’s family, we all experience His profound and comforting motherly love. Although we traditionally refer to God as "Father," the Scriptures beautifully reveal a God whose nature encompasses both strength and tender care, a heart that is both paternal and maternal.

Consider Isaiah's words, vividly portraying God’s motherly compassion gently caring for His children. The name "El Shaddai" carries the rich meaning of "God who nurtures like a mother," bringing forth life and sustaining us. Even Jesus expressed a motherly desire to gather His children protectively. God’s motherly love is a gentle, caring presence in our anxieties, offering solace like a mother's comfort. This love is also endlessly patient, gently guiding us towards truth, mirroring Jesus' guidance. Even in life's challenges, God’s motherly love provides unwavering comfort, as Jesus promised His constant presence. Reflecting on personal hardship, God’s nurturing hand led and sustained, opening unexpected doors.

Dear friends, God is right beside you, offering profound comfort. Jesus encouraged us to seek the Holy Spirit, and prayer connects us to this boundless love. Earnestly seek His comfort for a peace that deepens our faith and understanding of His nurturing love. May we all experience and extend this beautiful love, becoming channels of His comfort. This Mother’s Day, may you deeply know our nurturing God's profound love.
